Targeted Traffic - 3 Useful Tips for Beginners

Most people who are starting out in the field of internet marketing are having a hard time attracting qualified prospects. This is because their internet marketing campaign is not targeted. If you're one of these people, you need to know that there's no sense in spending so much time and energy in reaching out to those individuals who do not need or want your products and services. Obviously, they will not be able to help you reach your marketing goal which is to increase your sales and profits.

If you're using article marketing as one of your traffic-generating tools, the following tips are for you. These will help in making your campaign more focused and very targeted :

Be very smart when choosing your topics. One of the reasons why webmasters fail in getting targeted traffic is because they try to discuss different unrelated topics and issues on their website. I remember one site that I have visited a couple of days ago. Judging it from its domain name, the website is supposed to be about traveling.

However, the owner of the site is talking about issues that will not help him attract his potential clients. On one of his posts, he talked about the different types of laptops and he discussed about getting marriage license on the other. Now, can you tell me if these topics will help him attract tourists who want to book a room in the hotel that he's promoting? What I suggest is that you talk about issues that are closely related to your offerings. Better yet, talk about certain problems or goals that can be achieved or remedied using your products and services.

Understand the learning needs of your target audience. Before you start writing your articles, you need to ask yourself; "what information will address the learning needs of my prospects?' Knowing these information will surely help you in making your articles more focused and impacting. Let me give you an example; if you're offering coaching programs about internet marketing, you need to figure out if you want to serve those people who are considered newbies or those who have been in this business for at least 1-3 years. It is through this that you'll figure out the kind of information that they will appreciate. You wouldn't want to write an article entitled "What is online traffic?" if you're targeting expert internet marketers, right?

Post your articles to websites that are frequented by your target audience. Choose the sites that you're going to use when publishing your articles in the online arena. Aside from article marketing directories, you can also promote your articles using blogs and forums that are related to your chosen niche. For example, if writing about search engine marketing and blogging, you would want to use those forums and blogs that are related to internet marketing.
